Steve describes the process of creating a home as "Designing from the inside out. How a house lives is as important as how it looks". Through an interactive design process, design alternatives are explored along with the client and evaluated in a way that address the specifics of the site, the architectural character of the house, the owner’s lifestyle and tastes, and building costs.

A house design starts with the specifics of the site and with Steve's diverse background in landscape architecture, building design and interior design, he is able to bring a uniquely comprehensive approach to his projects. By introducing clients to builders early in the design process the project team is created from the start. This team approach, referred to as “Design/Build” provides not only a stronger communication process, but is also the most effective way to deliver a project on time and on budget. SCA coordinates all project engineers and the entire team of experts and designers projects require. Enclosed is a list of preferred builders and consultants that we are able to bring to our team.

Project management is a key aspect of successfully delivering a project. SCA introduces clients to builders early in the design process. The owner, architect and builder team is created from the start. Builders are then able to give technical input and accurately update the construction budget as the design evolves.

This team approach, referred to as “Design/Build” provides not only a stronger communication process, but is also the most effective way to deliver a project on time and on budget. For each project we develop a project timeline to track the tasks and phases of work. On your behalf we work closely with the builders and sub-contractors to ensure that their work is completed on time and with care.
